It was no use hiding the facts; they were majorly outnumbered, and Bane doubted DuskClan would turn up. He did not doubt his clans skill; but worried that they might die for the sake of the clan, for the sake of him and his ambitions. His clan may have this "evil" appearance, yet Bane was not cruelly heartless. Every warrior, every trained assassin that stood beside him now meant everything to him, and he could not bear to see any of them die. As he returned to where the rest of them were positioned, he sat within them - not ahead of them, not above them. Imbetween them, like an equal. He was an equal. They were his family, his friends. His eyes remained emotionless, yet his voice trembled slightly as he spoke. He stared ahead of him, then closed his eyes - for tears had begun to form, and he could not bear to lose face now.

Name of piece comes from the title of a song by The Killers. My favourite song on their new album, and a very fitting song for Bane I felt.
